Abroads & Field Programs
Abroad and Field Programs
Principia abroads, directed by a Principia faculty member with a full-time assistant, help students deepen their understanding of other peoples, gain a clearer sense of intercultural differences and similarities, and stretch their own perceptions of themselves and the world. Students are also challenged to meet the demands that come with living, traveling, and working together as a group while at the same time carrying a specially designed academic load. Principia field programs are similar in philosophy and academic challenges, but they take students to locations within the United States. Biology and natural resources students study at Yellowstone National Park; history scholars have traveled to Hawaii; and every other year, students travel to San Francisco to study entrepreneurship and participate in a variety of internships.
Two out of every three Principians participate in an abroad or field program during their college experience. |
