My personal goals for your Mongolia Abroad experience: My entire life has been centered on a set of principles and values instilled in me by my family and community.  I have learned the importance of each of these virtues through interactions with people and through working in Montana, and I dearly value their lessons.  The Mongolian aura, as I have perceived it from stories of those who have been there, is one of grounded lifestyles and living essentially (specifically among the herders) and I value each of these practices.  While I am visiting Mongolia primarily to study their agricultural practices and determine how government and politics impact the agrarian lifestyles, I hope to come out of Mongolia with a greater appreciation for and understanding of what it means to live deliberately.  In other words, I wish to spend time with individuals who live each day with meaning, who work hard and have pride in their work without becoming obsessed with financial success.  As a student, I hope to walk out of Mongolia with a greater understanding of the world, politics, and agriculture.  As an individual, I hope to walk out of Mongolia with a greater understanding of life principles and virtues.
