MUS 271:  Chamber Music for Credit

Recommended Prerequisites:  Demonstrated proficiency on an instrument or voice.


 

Material and skills covered:

The joy of making music together, by listening to one another and attempting to perform in perfect synchronization, the students experience one of the most rewarding aspects of music study. 

By working together with fellow musicians, one’s own development as a musician is greatly enhanced. 

 

Methods used:

            Weekly coaching with a designated coach.

            Frequent rehearsals with members of the ensemble.

            Individual practice and mastery of your own part.

            Performances, such as for Music at Davis concerts.

            Competition participation, if qualified.

           

Grade determined by:

            Successful completion of assigned music.

            Attendance at all rehearsals and performances.

            Harmonious and helpful interaction with other members of the ensemble.

            Willingness to learn.
