PE 35A or 35B: Circuit Training

Prerequisites: None
Materials and skills covered:
Students will be introduced to a
cardio-vascular program that will include the use of medicine balls, jump and heavy
rope, as well as body weight exercises.
The workout will increase in difficulty over time as students improve in
technique and stamina. Students who take
this course will learn to evaluate and create workout routines that will help
them to implement their own fitness plans for the future.
Methods used:
The instructor will demonstrate proper
technique with the use of all equipment at each station. Once skills and techniques have been taught,
the instructor will monitor the technique of the students. Students will be required to demonstrate
certain skills and techniques in order to pass.
The students will also be required to keep a journal to help monitor
progress over the course of the class.
The students will also learn about proper work to rest ratios (time
spent using energy : time spent recovering).

The final grade will be determined as
follows:
50% - Class Participation
25% - Effort
25% - Fitness Improvement
Attendance policy:
Attendance is required at all classes. More than three absences will result in a
failing grade. Prior notice must be
given for field trips.
