PE 44 and THEA 44: Dance: Ballet II

Material and skills covered:
Ballet technique is further developed
in the course with emphasis on center work and adagio. The student’s dance vocabulary and ability to
do more complicated steps is covered, as well as work on phrasing and
expression.
Methods used:
The
traditional method of teaching ballet; showing by example, correction and
repetition.
Grade
determined by:
By the student’s progress both
technically and musically (phrasing), their attitude toward the discipline of
the classroom work and their desire to attain mastery of the subject at hand.
Attendance
policy:
Two unexcused
absences allowed; a third means the student is dropped from the class.
