PE/THEA 80:  Dance: Modern I

Material and skills covered:

Basic modern dance technique is introduced and the student’s improvisational, musical and technical skills are developed. Basic movement fundamentals are covered e.g. space, shape, timing and weight.

 

Methods used:

Traditional teaching methods are used; showing by example, correction and repetition.

 

Grade determined by:

By determining a student’s progress during the course, attitude towards trying new things and willingness to move outside their comfort zone.

 

Attendance policy:

Two unexcused absences are allowed. A third unexcused absence will cause the student to be dropped from the course.
