Principia College:
Departments
Athletics and Physical Education

The Athletics Department at Principia includes physical education classes, varsity and junior varsity athletics, and academic programs in sports management and coaching fundamentals.

The Sports Management program provides an opportunity for interdisciplinary study and is a relatively new concept in higher education. Students develop skills in analysis, synthesis, and problem solving as they develop a broader and more integrated view of the sports world. Sport in our society depends heavily on expertise in management, marketing, accounting and communication. This major provides an educational experience that can bridge the theory with the practical application.

The minor in Coaching Fundamentals combines all aspects of coaching and knowledge of how to run a program and its needs.
