Housed in the new science center, the chemistry program includes four well-equipped, modern laboratories, a classroom, study rooms, a computer room, and faculty offices.

The emphasis in both the B.S. and B.A. degree programs is on assisting the students to develop a working knowledge of basic chemical principles, and to prepare them, if desired, for possible careers or graduate training in chemistry. Chemistry majors may also choose to participate in one or more quarters of industrial research experience, or to participate in an original research project.
