Did you know?
Sylvester is currently the only co-ed upper class house on campus. Originally designed as a men's house, Sylvester was turned into a women's house when there was a shortage of housing for women in the 1940s, so it's only fitting that it now houses both men and women.

Annual Event: Silent Syl on Halloween (Trick or Treating for the whole campus)

Students say:
"Sylvester is a house where you're free to be yourself - to express who you really are. I like that you can choose to be part of the house on your own terms and no one pressures you to do things. I think it's a great place to live for people who are independent and like to have a lot of freedom but still want a sense of home."
—Luisa Gomez ('10)

"Sylvester offers me a great combination of friendship and freedom. I can choose to hang out and do things with people in the house, but I can also find the peace and quiet to get my work done. There's a lot of respect for the individual here. I really appreciate being able to get involved with the house when I want, and still be able to do my own thing."
