Hi! My name is Janell Field and I am a third-quarter junior and economics major at Prin. I enjoy dancing, running, playing tennis, and, of course, speaking Spanish! I am so excited to be a part of this abroad program. I am most looking forward to improving my Spanish and learning about Venezuelan culture during my stay with a local family in Merida. When first arriving I was very surprised to see such huge mountains, lush with green trees growing in a reddish-colored soil. It is also more hot and humid than I expected, but Isla Margarita has perfect Caribbean weather. The locals here are very friendly and laid back, but they are crazy drivers!
