I'm a sophomore majoring in Spanish and sociology. First impressions
of Venezuela: 1) Living in the developing world. In the city there are
houses stacked on top of each other up the hillside. These are the homes
of the working class. 2) Moving in the developing world. The drivers are
fearless. 3) Breathing in the developing world. You inhale the American
influence everywhere: the fast-food chains, local haunts with names like
"California Bar," and clothing stores straight from the suburbs.
