Lenore (Lee) Suarez has been on Principia's faculty and coaching staff since 1971. Many times during her coaching career, she has been honored in significant ways and her teams have received national and regional recognition. Lee has participated in tennis, track and field, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and field hockey. Among her college career achievements were state championships in badminton, high scorer in basketball, starting setter in volleyball, and number two singles player on the tennis team for four years. She held an appointment as visiting professor at McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois in 1989. Miss Suarez has been published in the American Volleyball Coaches Journal, an article entitled "Communication can give you the winning edge" (1989). This article now appears in a book called The Related Elements of the Game, a series in the Best of Coaching Volleyball books. She also has given seminars on communication styles for the Girl Scouts of America, River Bluff Council. Along with Dr. Paul Robinson of the Physics department, Ms. Suarez co-authored an abstract and paper published and presented at the Illinois section of American Association of Physic Teachers.
