Coach Sprague is a 1986 graduate of Principia College, where he played on the varsity basketball team for three years and the varsity baseball team for four years. After graduating from Principia he spent six years in Kansas and six years in Florida as the head teaching professional for two baseball schools. Garry has also coached and been the athletic director for the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, at the middle school level.
Garry returned to Principia College with his wife Mary Ann and daughters Savanna and Sierra in 1997. Mary Ann is Principia College's volleyball coach. Garry worked with the JV basketball team for one year and was the assistant coach of the varsity team for three years before taking over as head coach in 2001. Garry is also the resident counselor in Buck House.
