Administrative Assistant - Advancement Office

— Full-time, twelve-month position, beginning Summer 2008

Provides administrative support for the Director of Alumni and Field Relations and the Annual Development and Stewardship Manager including programs and projects within each office. Responsibilities include support for Principia Club Membership drives, Annual Fund solicitations and gift stewardship communication; administering office budgets; coordinating research and reports for all assigned programs and projects; and providing event support as needed. Minimum qualifications: Membership in the Mother Church and active branch church membership. Christian Science Class instruction preferred. Supports Principia’s primary mission to serve the Cause of Christian Science. BA preferred; at least an Associates degree. Adminsitrative Assistant - CIS

— Full-time, twelve-month position, beginning as soon as possible

This two-campus position provides administrative assistance to the entire department as directed by the reporting relationship. Although not necessarily limited to these areas, the position has a special focus on financial matters (budget and purchasing) and on management of software licenses and media. This is a new position with this posting. Many of the procedures needed are not as well defined as they need to be for the department to progress. The successful candidate will in effect be “inventing” the job. The successful candidate will need to initiate and maintain harmonious communications with several others, including Principia employees and vendors. After-School Worker

— Nine-month, partial school-day position(3:00-5:30); beginning September 2008

Assist the After-School Program Director. Supervises students after school on the playground and in the After-School Care room. Monitors the afternoon playground. Works with Director and student helpers supervising the After-School playground or setting up and supervising indoor activities. Facilitates safety and helping students problem solve through inharmonious situations; disciplining when necessary. Works with the Director to establish consistent expectations and policies regarding the playground and other activities. Monitors the check-in desk when instructed to do so by the Director. Assists Director with record-keeping as needed. Coordinates the general upkeep and cleanliness of the facilities. Helps establish a comfortable and productive recreation/learning environment for students. Arrives at After-School Care room by 3:00 p.m. to set out snack and make any additional necessary preparations. May stay until all children are picked up--usually between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. Takes over Director's responsibilities if the Director needs to be absent. Field Development Administrative Coordinator

— Full-time, Temporary beginning August 1, 2008 - December 2008

Responsible for administrating, coordinating, and assisting in all related activities associated with the Field Development office and the efforts to advance donor relationships. Implements Principia’s planned giving programs, procedures, and policies, maintaining a strong, professional relationship with Principia’s planned gift administrator, Mellon Charitable Gift Services. Supports the Executive Advancement Officer and the Chairman with specific Development related projects, bi-monthly delivery of receipts and thank you letters to donors. Supports and interfaces with donor development in several important areas, including first line provider for all inbound donor inquiries, the preparation and coordination of all key and core donor mailings, the preparation and coordination of the Field Development, Exe. Advancement Officer and Chairman’s gift receipt and thank you letters, and in support of Field Development Officers follow-up correspondence with donors. Assist and support the Field Development Officers in assembling the necessary tools to effectively present and develop prospective and current donors, including presentation preparation and materials, donor giving history, reporting and marketing materials, etc. Responsible for identifying, examining, implementing and maintaining planned gift marketing and product programs and other resources for Development Officers to assure that donors and prospects are properly and accurately informed and Principia’s Gift Planners are able to maintain a highest degree of competence and professionalism. Responsible for coordinating and assisting others with planned gift communications, solicitation and publication strategies to maximize gift support for Principia. Senior Graphic Designer

— Full-time, 12 months, beginning as soon as possible

Responsible for the creation of marketing communications which include brochures, catalogs, newsletters, web landing pages, etc to support Pre-School - College and adult programs. Works seamlessly with the internal agency (copywriters, other designers, photographer, creative director and web developers. Exhibits high level of client care, focused on excellent customer service and communication. Presents projects to clients, garners buy-in and provides clarity around expectations. Coordinates with vendors to obtain cost estimates and quality results. Assists Marketing Creative Director with department projects and issues. Physics Faculty
