Boarding

• About one-fourth of our 7th- and 8th-graders come from other parts of the United States to live on campus.
• There are two dorms, one for girls and one for boys, each housing a maximum of 12 students.
• House parents are Christian Scientists specifically chosen for their sensitivity to the needs of 7th- and 8th-graders.
• Each dorm has a living room, computer area, laundry facility and comfortable dorm rooms designed for two students.
• It's not unusual after school to find the students enjoying a homemade snack, "hanging out" together listening to music while working on projects, writing e-mails home, attending sports games, playing basketball outside the dorm or gathering around the fireplace for a family meeting when the weather turns cold.
• Meals are eaten in the Middle School dining room, with the same menu served to the Upper School boarders.
• Christian Science graduate nurses are available on campus around the clock at Campus House.
• Weekends are a combination of planned social activities, free time, Sunday School at a local Christian Science church, and homework.
• From time to time day-student families invite boarders to their homes, and boarders invite day-student friends to spend an overnight in the dorm.
• Middle Schoolers are encouraged to grow in their understanding and use of Christian Science, to attain sound study habits, and to learn to socialize in an unpressured, safe, and wholesome environment.
