Thursday, April 19, 2001 "Lilia!" starring Libby Skala was presented tonight. The one-woman show traced Libby's relationship with her grandmother, Lilia Skala, over 20 years. Lilia rose from a penniless immigrant to the Oscar-nominated star of "Lilies of the Field" in 1963 with Sidney Poitier.

Libby Skala was inspired to create "Lilia!" after a teacher in New York asked her to talk about something interesting in her life.
|

Lilia was also the first female architect in Austria, although her dream was always to become an actress.

Wanamaker Hall provided an intimate setting for the personal show.

For the past four years, Libby has been performing her one-woman show.
