In our community, there are many opportunities for children to participate on sports teams outside of Principia. Students are encouraged to seek out local teams and skill-building experiences in leagues and organizations in the surrounding communities. Team sign-ups usually happen about two months prior to the season. Please check your local Suburban Journal newspaper or the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for ongoing information. Often you can sign up your own team and coach, or you can sign up individually and be put into a “pool.” Players will then be placed on a team by the organization.
Talk with your classmates, talk with your neighbors, talk with the school coaches and PE teachers. Local Parks and Recreation Departments are also a good resource for local sports and activities, both recreational and competitive.
