A Message to the Board of Trustees

MARY KIMBALL MORGAN
The Principia, if it is anything, and it is, is a divine idea, born of God, established on Principle, reared in Truth, sustained by Love, and dedicated to God’s service. Being a compound idea, all that goes to make up its wholeness must be perfect as the Mind it expresses. Its substance is not in matter but in Spirit and therefore indestructible. Its foundation is divine Principle therefore it cannot be shaken or disturbed. It is founded upon the Rock — Christ. The storms of mortal malice are impotent to weaken it. “Rooted and grounded” in Love, nothing can undermine its support.
Principia College, the culmination of this compound idea, has its inception in divine Mind. “Its beginning,” like all of God’s ideas, “will be meek, its growth sturdy, and its maturity undecaying”. “Though gathering new energy, this idea cannot injure its useful surroundings in the travail of spiritual birth. A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive” (S&H 463).
That which is called “Principia” must be the perfect and complete expression of this divine idea of education, for “as in heaven, so on earth, — God is omnipotent, supreme . . . over all, and All”. Therefore foundation and superstructure must be in accordance with God’s will. Nothing can enter into its construction that can weaken its strength or deface its beauty since “Mind is the architect that builds its own idea, and produces all harmony that appears” (Misc. Wr. 41:19). Every idea in Mind is properly placed, unfolding according to the will of Principle, and moving in its own orbit. Read My. 226:6. Mortal mind, so-called, cannot bring into its environment anything that can cheapen its value, interfere with its safety or beauty, undermine its foundation, limit its growth, nor curtail its usefulness. Its setting is in accordance with the will of Wisdom. No personal desire or opinion can influence the proper placing of Principia College. No uncertainty can obscure the leading of Wisdom in any step that should be taken. Mortal mind in the guise of Good cannot cause us to take any step that will have to be retraced or that can be detrimental to the free and full development of Principia College. Nor can mortal mind cause us to fear to follow when and where God leads. We cannot be made to question any decision that is the result of scientific demonstration.
No claim of envy, malice, hatred or revenge toward the Cause of C. S. can obscure our perception of divine guidance and confuse our thought as to the right thing to do.
This is God’s work and no human will nor wish can interfere with its right progress and completion. Principia, in every detail, belongs to God and no mortal can direct or get in the way of its perfect unfoldment.
The trustees of Principia are God’s instruments and have no will nor wish separate from God. They are but the instruments in His hands for the carrying out of the divine will and are governed by the one Mind and therefore protected in every decision. There is therefore unity of purpose, unity of desire, unity of procedure, and unity of decision. One Will and that the Divine, governs all action. There is but one impulsion — the impulsion of divine Love. Therefore only right activity can be set in motion and Love maintains that activity throughout every step of progress. Progress, being the law of God, cannot be hindered nor arrested.
This treatment, being the declaration of God’s word, is law to the building of Principia College. It cannot be diverted, controverted, nor reversed, but must accomplish God’s will concerning it. “We have no enemies. Whatever envy, hatred, revenge — the most remorseless motives that govern mortal mind — whatever these try to do, shall ‘work together for good to them that love God’ ” (Misc. Wr. 10:4). In “the secret place of the most High” where dwells every one of God’s ideas, there “enters no element of earth . . . to silence the right intuition which guides us safely home” (Misc. Wr. 152:28).
