Student Government

At the Upper School there are opportunities for students to serve in positions of responsibility. In some of these positions people volunteer to serve, such as on the Chapel Committee or the Social Committee. Other positions are filled by student elections, such as class officers, Student Council, and the dorm governing boards.

Student Council

The Student Council is the school-wide governing body with representation from all other forms of student government, student activity groups, and student constituencies. The Student Council is given authority and responsibility to act as a liaison with the school on issues of importance to students, such as calendar, special activities, assemblies, dress, rules, reward systems, character education, curriculum, sportsmanship, and many others.

Girls' Gavel Board & Boys' Governing Board

Candidates for election are self-nominated and elected in the spring of their junior year. These two dormitory boards are committed to upholding and enforcing all dormitory and campus rules and to ensuring harmony by maintaining high standards and living up to the highest sense of right in all activities.
