Aesthetic Statement

In my opinion, art is an exaggeration of real life. Exaggeration meaning an alteration or distortion of what already exists. Paul Rand, a graphic designer, described it better when he said, "Art is reality enhanced." I am personally interested in all kinds of art and have been drawn to it from an early age. I have enjoyed taking a number of Fine Art classes even though my general area of interest is graphic design because I prefer the use of a computer. I see Graphic design as the freedom to express a subject or object in different ways using my personal artistic sense. The process of transforming what I see (the subject or object) into an interpretation of what I see as a functional interactive printed piece or web page is what interests me most. The reason why I chose to be an artist besides the fact that I love art, is so that I could hopefully inspire people the way that I have been inspired by my mentors Neville Brody and Paul Rand.
